Director of Extension
The Directorate of Extension of the University of Agricultural Sciences, Raichur has an immense role to play with regard to transfer of technology. Extension service is a vehicle, which carries scientific agricultural and allied technology interventions developed at the research stations to the farmers’ field. This noble activity facilitates in bridging the identified technological gaps exiting with the farmers. The ultimate goal is to enhance sustainable net income of the farmer by taking all the enterprises on the farm into consideration, integrating them and treating the whole farm as one unit.
The Directorate carries its activities through seven Krishi Vigyan Kendras and four Extension Education Units which are working at the grassroots level. The farming community can avail the services of the Directorate of Extension to get the solutions to their farming problems.

Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India launched the LAB TO LAND PROGRAMME to commemorate its Golden Jubilee during 1979. Zonal Directorate, Zone XI, Bangaluru was established during September 1979 as Zonal Coordinating Unit, Zone VIII at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore to monitor the activities of Lab to Land Programme. Subsequently, the unit was shifted to Bangalore in September 1981. Presently the Directorate is located at Hebbal, Bangalore, in Karnataka state.
